Sierra Nevada Children's Services (SNCS) enriches the community by supporting quality child care and empowering families to aspire to lifelong success.
SNCS is a private, nonprofit child care resource and referral agency that has served families, early childhood professionals, and the community since 1978.

Executive Director
Katie Filimonov, SNCS Executive Director since 2022, believes quality childcare is a key economic driver and essential for workforce participation, especially for women. Starting at SNCS in 2008, her role focuses on administering state and federal funds for meaningful community impact, supporting both low-income families and childcare providers with fair pay.

The Sierra Nevada Children’s Services (SNCS) Board of Directors guides the organization’s vision, strategy, and accountability. These volunteer leaders bring diverse expertise in education, business, health, and finance—working collaboratively to shape programs, support events, and champion the mission of helping children and families thrive throughout our community with creativity and integrity.

Jessica Lime, a strategic planning consultant and former SNCS Director, uses her experience as a working mom to champion affordable, quality child care.

Doug Summers, CPA, joined to help SNCS fulfill its community purpose by providing a crucial business and financial perspective to the organization.
Laura Pare
Secretary
Laura Pare knows children are the future. As an estate planning attorney, she understands the financial impact of child care on families and believes quality care has huge ripple effects on who these children become.
David Jones
Chair
David Jones, the Chair of SNCS, provides a financial perspective to the board. He champions affordable, quality child care for families starting out and understands the burden those costs can bring to young families.
Meagan Beaver
Vice Chair
Megan Beaver is an attorney who joined the board to give back to her community. As a parent in a two-working-parent household, she understands the struggle for affordable child care and its necessity in today's world.
