What is TrustLine?
TrustLine is a service created by the California Legislature
to offer parents, employment agencies, Child Care Resource and Referral
Agencies, and child care providers access to a background check conducted
by:
- California Department of Social Services (CDSS)
- California Criminal History System
- Child Abuse Central Index at the Department of Justice (DOJ)
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Why is TrustLine important?

or abuse at the hands of a known felon.
Who should be cleared by TrustLine?
- Individuals who provide care in your home
- Caregivers exempt from licensing

CDSS and may be checked through the California Child Care
Resource and Referral Network at 1-800-822-8490. For more
information visit the California
