SNCS PROGRAM COMMITTEE
The Program Committee shall be responsible for the review of each major program to determine which activities are currently being measured and identify those activities which are not being measured and should be added to the measurement reports.  In addition, the Committee shall (1) assure well-defined responsibility for establishing and maintaining performance standards, (2) review the means to measure the performance of each major program, (3) review the reporting procedure to assure clear, concise reports to the Board of Directors, and (4) establish a procedure to audit performance measurement on a specific periodic basis.

ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN (AEYC)
By joining a chapter of the Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC), you’ll become part of the Nation’s largest membership organization of early childhood professionals and others dedicated to improving the quality of services for young children and families. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a national network of over 300 local, state and regional affiliates with nearly 100,000 members who believe in the importance of the early years - birth through age 8 - the critical years of development.

CA Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC) is our state affiliate and Gold Country Association for the Education of Young Children (GCAEYC) is our local affiliate.

Who joins AEYC?
Directors, Preschool teachers and Aides, infant care providers, church schools, family child care providers, private and public child care providers, Head Start program staff, kindergarten and elementary educators.

Students, Parents, Concerned Professionals and Volunteers – Students, parents and volunteers in Early Childhood Centers and parent educators, counselors, social workers, administrators, librarians, college instructors and health care professionals.

If you are looking for an organization that:

  • promotes opportunities for teachers and parents of young children,
  • speaks on behalf of the needs of young children and their families,
  • gives exposure to the newest resources,
  • encourages and promotes professionalism in Early Childhood Education and
  • is community involved,

the Gold Country AEYC sponsors many Nevada County events in collaboration with other agencies. Day of the Young Child and Kids Corner are two popular events that GCAEYC has been actively involved with. GCAEYC also works in collaboration to offer Non Violence Level 1 training, music and dance opportunities for child care programs, scholarships toward ECE classes for existing members, as well as many trainings and workshops for both child care providers and the community.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR FAMILY CHILD CARE (NAFCC)
The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is a non-profit organization that has worked for over 25 years to promote quality child care. NAFCC provides support to family child care providers through training and educational opportunities, information and resources, and Accreditation. FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES EDUCATION “NETWORK” (FCCHEN)
“Network” providers meet on a monthly basis for professional development and training.  Training topics focus on child development, quality or “best practices” in child care, quality environments for learning and development, and age appropriate activities.  These training opportunities are open to all providers and meeting topics can be found on our Events Calendar for providers.
