Promotora Outreach to the Spanish Speaking Community

The Promotora Program provides health education and advocacy services to connect Spanish speaking families with community healthcare and other resources.

Promotoras offer a health education curriculum including:

• Workshops on obesity, nutrition, gestational and adult diabetes, cardiovascular health, oral health, asthma, maternal health, child development, mental health, family budgeting, literacy, child discipline and domestic violence
• Physical activities including swimming in season and exercise classes for fitness
• Connections to services for health, school, social services and transportation; to classes in child development, ESL, and health issues; to insurance enrollment; and to information on nutrition, obesity, asthma, prenatal care, oral health, well baby, immunization, and diabetes

Collaborations include:
