Dennis Fournier
It’s not that Dennis Fournier had grown bored in his 2 ½ years of retirement. The Penn Valley resident has been keeping busy as a member of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership (CNL) and as a breeder of Egyptian Arabian horses. But, Sierra Nevada Children’s Services needed a leader and Dennis has answered the call. Dennis is the former Executive Director of Hospice of the Foothills. Dennis started at Hospice of the Foothills in 1990, when the organization was formed with five paid employees and relied on volunteers to care for terminally ill patients. Under his leadership, Hospice grew to a fully licensed and certified program with 80 employees serving more than 300 patients annually. Dennis also spearheaded a campaign that raised much of the $7.5 million for the in-patient facility that now stands on Rough and Ready Highway, just west of Grass Valley. Dennis will now focus on helping Sierra Nevada Children’s Services continue the mission of enriching the community by supporting quality child care and empowering families to aspire to lifelong success. |
