Thank you for visiting the Sierra Nevada Children’s Services (SNCS) website!
SNCS is a private, nonprofit child care resource and referral agency that has served families, early childhood professionals and the community since 1978.
SNCS has utilized state funding resources and community partnerships to actively support whole family growth and individualized personal development. As an agency dedicated to working with children and families, we thrive on our ability to provide quality assistance, compassion and respect to everyone we assist.
Are you a parent looking for child care, a child care provider seeking to start a business or improve your program quality, or a family looking for child development information? If so, our website has the information you need and much more!
The end of this fiscal year is quickly approaching (06.30.09) Attendance Sheets for the Month of June should be received in the SNCS offices no later than 5:00 P.M. July 6, 2009. So remember, in order to reimburse you for all the dedication and support you offer children and families in our community please submit all attendance sheets no later than 5:00 p.m. July 6, 2009.
Parents: As you know the child care payments that SNCS makes on your behalf are funded by the State. Once again, SNCS may need to temporarily suspend those payments pending adoption of a revised State budget. We have advised your child care provider of this possibility, and we will continue to try to minimize the impact of the State budget crisis on your child care.
Providers: "Plan for a possible interruption in reimbursement." This has become the annual message that you don't want to hear, and we don't like to deliver. But, once again, the uncertainty of the State's ability to fund subsidized child care programs may affect our ability to reimburse you. If the State does not fund subsidy programs on a timely basis, SNCS must temporarily suspend reimbursements to you starting in August for July child care service. We will continue to process attendance sheets on schedule and will then make all reimbursements once funded by the State.
A partner.
